Gothic Remake Lockpick Calculator

The calculator view treats each lock as a small modular puzzle: current pins plus target pins become a turn vector and ordered input chain.

Calculate a sequence

Calculator inputs

Use numbers 0 through 6 for each current and target pin. The calculator wraps around safely, so a left turn from 0 becomes 6.

Choose same or opposite only for pairs that are mechanically linked. Arbitrary pair links are supported for uncommon lock notes.

Calculator outputs

The result shows the shortest or preferred safe turn count, the exact plate input chain, and the state after each turn.

When a state is impossible, the diagnostic points you back to likely link-map mistakes instead of returning a misleading answer.

Why targets matter

A lockpick calculator is more reliable when it knows both the starting pins and the intended ending pins.

That lets the solver account for linked plates instead of assuming independent left-right combination strings.
